What stands out in the new Infinix note 2?
DISPLAY
The massive 5.9 inch HD display has a fitting hand design, its crisp on maximum brightness levels and colours are also vibrant. The superior screen to body ratio offers users a more satisfying experience. Playing videos, games and surfing the internet is quite beautiful . Owing to its average 245 PPI (pixels per inch) text is not that crisp and pixels can be noticed when viewed more closely. However it's still a pretty beautiful display and any person would drool over it.
DESIGN
The Infinix note 2 has a rectangular body. Its attractive looks are at par with its incredible performance. The phone’s back cover sports brushed textures that look extremely stylish and feel incredible to the touch. On first look the back cover may look like brushed aluminium however, it sports a plastic back with purposeful design like scratches on it. Because of its whooping 4000mah battery, the Infinix weighs a little more than regular phablets. At the back is the speaker grills which are fairly okay but have a distorted output when on highest volume.Big, bulky and plastic. That’s what the Infinix Note is in one sentence. At 16cm, the Infinix Note 2 is a towering device. At 9.3 mm thick it is not thin either. And it is bulky, which, contrary to what you may expect, I find to be a good thing. For a device of its size, it helps when you actually feel that you are holding something. The size of the Infinix Note 2 dictates every other physical feature on the device.
The power button, for instance, is centrally placed on the left side of the device to make it easy to access it. It is also textured to make it more clicky and you certainly can’t miss it.
The back is removable to reveal the non-removable battery and the two microSIM and microSD card slots.
The top of the front side of the device has a proximity sensor, the front-facing camera, an LED notification and earpiece in that order.
HARDWARE
Now here's my best part. When it comes to GPUs and processors, Infinix has to be given cudos. Parking almost highend beastly specs in a midrange phone is what the oem company offers to its consumer. The Infinix note two offers specs that every tech enthusiast would drool over.
With the Cortex-A53 64 bit architecture, the NOTE2 CPU is 37% faster than HOT NOTE on processing data. It delivers a smooth experience whether you are multitasking, gaming, or watching videos. Dual micro SIM makes it easy to toggle between work and personal lives. Expanded storage supports up to 32GB for even more multimedia fun! NOTE2 comes with large battery capacity (4000mAh) for extended usage time. Running out of “juice” is a problem of the past. Equipped with an OTG data line, NOTE2 can instantly become a power source for other devices. Conveniently, it can also serve as a hard drive data reader. This all-purpose device is ideal for reading, studying, or business-related tasks.
*Battery capacity: Lithium-ion polymer battery with standard capacity of 4040mAh and rated capacity of 3960mAh.
With dual IC-charge design, NOTE2 has dual engine to charge in a flash. Also, NOTE2 combines next-gen charging technology with ATL heavy duty batteries. Come to join the faster and more reliable charging experience. Under room temperature conditions (25°C), 15 min charges 1000mAh for up to 8 hr of talk time; 60 min charges up to 97% and 90 min is a full charge.
GAMING
It is fair to say Infinix is a multimedia phone especially for gaming. I tested it with hitman sniper in medium graphics quality and it ran smoothy. This goes to show that mediatek MT6753 octacore Cpu and 2gig of ram can handle any graphic demanding game you throw at it. The same thing happened when I tried playing Fifa 2016, there was absolutely no lag. The antututu benchmarks scores where pretty impressive too.
CAMERA
NOTE2 rear camera adopts PDAF phase-focusing technology. It takes only 0.25s for NOTE2 to focus automatically without touching the screen, which is 100% faster than HOT NOTE, largely increasing focus speed for faster picture taking. Seize the moment, capture life in its fullest. Besides, NOTE2 camera module utilizes Stack and Samsung ISOcell technology to enable greater resolution. Significantly enhanced light intake and sensitivity yields clear photographs even under low-light conditions. Forget all the technical talk. What am I trying to say is that this phone takes great photos lol!
VERDICT
In conclusion, its not bad to say that the infinix note 2 is a noteworthy contender and can to an extent stand against some flagship phones. its affordable, has a beautiful design and great specs.
